Default Tiny Thompson engine

Can anyone help me with the history or know anything about this tiny little engine? The only identifying marks are "THE THOMPSON ENGINE CO., GRAND RAPIDS, MICH.

that looks just like the engine my uncle had in his shop years ago, it shrunk some , i guess when your little thing look biger then it was, wow thanks, didnt no what it was, people i talk to about that little engine just guessing what it might be with out seeing it, that what it look like, sold at auction 20 years ago, thanks now i know what to look for to buy one,
