Default Sears Generator 580.325060

Just acquired a Sears Generator that was bought new by the original buyer in 1978. It has a HM70 Tecumseh & hp. Looking for a wiring diagram for the generator. It puts out intermittant voltage. This is a 3000 watt rated unit. It even had the dual fuel tank option and the deluxe face plate. Sears still has a parts listing although most of them are NLA. Any help would be appreciated. This is one of them with the regulator module instead of just a diode bridge.

Did you check with Sears Customer Service and Repair Parts? Sears usually has very good Records for Units they sell.

Be aware the parts for the 7 HP Tecumseh engine on this unit are going to get VERY difficult to buy as Tecumseh engine is going OUT OF BUSSINESS.

GT-

The 580 in the Sears model number, refers to Generac.

I find Generac models S4000 and S4002 listed in the Clymer Small AC Generator Service Manual Volume 1, using the Tecumseh HM80 engine. The HM70 engine service information is included in a separate section, but there isn't a corresponding Generac model listed that uses it.

Clymer's Volume 2 has Generac models 3000, 3000LT, S3000T, G3000, HD3000, S3000 and 3000XL listed, each with one or more specific identifiers. The S3000 would be my first guess as to which one yours is. Its identifier is 9387-0. The S3000T identifier is 8882-0. No diagram is shown for either.

Mine has the regulator module instead of just a full wave diode bridge. It has 1 diode for the DC charging circuit.
