Default STERLING TRUCKS - Mine's a '23

Hello! I'm brand new here and need your help.

I am a credentialed personal property appraiser. My company is in the process of valuing the "fleet" of a prominent racing family. In the collection is a 1923 Sterling C-cab 2 Ton with the original 4-cylinder engine - it is fully restored.

Can you direct me to information pertinent to such a vehicle?
Auction results, offered-for-sale or private sale results? Is there a Sterling Motor Trucks "guru" in this family?

Attempted to contact a couple posters on last year's Sterling thread but was unsuccessful.

Thank you,
Jon Lundberg

You can look here too:

Go to the bottom of page and page 3 as well for two more.
I thought they sold WAY too cheap even then.......so take it from there.

Craig:

Thanks for the lead. And I agree! Further, that particular auction took place in 2004.

Jeff.....that last Sterling, the orange one on the Aumann site, wasn't much more than a self propelled frame when we got it. Seems to me I sat on a box to drive it the first time....... It was like riding a bucking bronco because ALL the tires were worn badly out of round. The cab was built here in town by a MASTER woodworker........the guy can do anything to do with wood!
I took the compound feed off my big old late and clamped it to some heavy steel horses we have. We could use the trucks own power to "turn" the rear tires but had to come up with a real concoction of a setup to do the fronts........
I took all the vice grips I had and clamped them evenly around the rim, used a BIG drill (that's what everyone has always called it too...."the big drill") with a lathe chuck on it.
We used the chuck as a pulley and belted the drill to the wheel using the vice grips as the driven "pulley".
It worked and that was that.
The 5 ton truck was fun to drive.......
