Default Expensive ebay postcards?

Normally post cards on ebay are lucky to get 10-15 dollars but lately there's been a frenzy of bidding.
There was a 110 print last week that brought over $100.

This one [310111683826] is an interesting photo with a few engines already bid to 113 bucks with a few days to go!

Here's a 110 post card thats at $60 already: [310111682142]

This guys going for the big $ right away [330297351120]

and here's a nice pic of an 80 Case, sitting around $28 [310110915450] Ah, there was 8 seconds left when i copied the link, it ended at 34$.

One nice Case gauge sold yesterday, anyone on here buy it? There's a second one on there and it shot right up to around 270$ in a day!

Seems like a good time to be selling post cards. too bad i don't think we have any

Colin,
That third card of the 32hp Case and plows... If he gets his $115 price, I'd better find mine and sell it. But maybe that would be an indication there is only ONE fool out there?

On the other hand, I kind of understand how the photograph postcards of 110s climb in value. There aren't that many 110s around and they sell for big buck$ for the demand & availability ratio. The pictures, especially good photos, of the 32s & 110s in their original element are scarce as well. Those of us who'll never own a 110 can sometimes own a piece of their original action, and sometimes we can splurge one big time?

I have a few friends who pay BIG bucks often for high quality postcard photos. They see it as an investment, I'm pretty sure. I know I've paid more than my wife would have liked me to for a couple of the steam catalogs I own. I'm a "penny anty" collector, but there are still some for all on eBay at times. Afterall, anyone can always start with the Case roadroller postcard, if they want "an old postcard." There seems to be a gazillion of them out there. However some sellers still try to start them at $15-20.

Hopefully I hit "submit reply" before this thread gets moved to the "eBay" forum at the top of our steam page?
Gary

Well the post cards novelty wore off and now the item of the weeks seems to be Oil cups 350154866330 i think i threw on one of the 1st bids at 15 bucks. then i look back today and its 152? these can be found on 100s of older case threshing machines around the country. they just have female threads and you can stick a short nipple in them to use them on the steamer cannon bearings. and actually the one to oil the intermediate gear has the female end anyways.
a guy in Sask. was making these and i think he was charging 125 but im not sure. i bet if cattail mde them they would be cheap? i bought a pair of female ones last year and paid something like 35$ each 2 guys must need one of these bad

Hay Colin, I seen the $152 oil cup, a friend of mine is the seller. I went out to my building and dug out a NOS one and put it on ebay just a few hours ago. It's already up to $10.50. Figure it's time to sell a few.

Colin,
with all of the old iron sitting around you have ..... you need to get you a camera and start making reproduction vintage post cards........when the prices start climbing up again.

Hmmm.....funny thing, you know....none of the Keck engines on this postcard look like a British Showman's engine!
