i just received my new train magazine with a note. Mesco stands for Manhattan Electric Supply. They produced all types of electric apparatus from the 1900"s through the 1930"s. Their line included toy motors of the style illustrated "here on this site" in 3 model sizes,1011, 1012, and the largest 1013. As far as I know these are the only motors they produced. Other products were early radio receiver and transmitter components, batteries [wet cell] and miscellaneous items. The motors were reversible and typically ran on three to six volts DC.
