Default Request Info. on an Eclipse Engine

I am in possession of an old Eclipse Pump Jack Engine that by all major appearances except one resembles Harry's Old-Engine #18. The exception is this, while the flywheel with crank handle has the name Fairbanks-Morse cast in it, the cylinder casting only bears the name "ECLIPSE" (no Fairbanks-Morse), with no patent number or date. Cast in small letters on the upper crank housing oposite the flywheel are "VAID" or "VAIO". Could this have been made by the Eclipse Windmill Company before Fairbanks-Morse purchased them? Any help would be appriciated.

The engines without the patent on them are most likely built pre-1914 (which was when the patent was granted and assigned to F-M). The patent was applied for in 1911 which coincides with the start of production. Eclipse windsmills were part of F-M from the 1890s so it well and truly pre-dates the construction of the Eclipse engines.
The V numbers are part numbers.
