Threecase, if I was to have someone trying to sell me a full size off of this model I wouldn't buy it. The purpose for salesmans samples is to show the stuff the buyer couldn't understand, valve gearing, ect. This is a cute model, the detail is, well, less than what I believe CASE would have used. Remember these people (CASE) made the real thing, they had the ability to make a 1" live steam model as well.
I would not take my advise as the final answer, just a good suggestion. I will say that it is a really neat little model. More pics would be neat if you could.
Thanks

First I don't think it would be a salesman's model. It's a little rough for that. Second, there are certain pieces on it that look like the castings on my Cole's Case, the cylinder, the crosshead and the smokestack. The remaining parts look like they were made from sheetmetal. I think someone had some castings and made a reasonable model of a Case engine. Without knowing any of the history, tools used, time frame, it's hard to venture a guess but that's my best take on it.

I agree with the others, not a salesman sample. Someone has made a nice lookalike. Still a keeper tho.
