OK here is the spec's:
Model 09788-4 Series 5500-XL Serial 4381880 The problem is no power. Well 5vAC. After reading alot of post. I disconnected the black and white wires from the brushes and applied 12dc from a battery and the generator put out 109vAC(around that). As soon as I took the power away 12vDC away it stop putting out the 109v and went back to 5-7vAC. Can someone help me on what to do next or replace. Is it the Voltage Regulator? Could it be bad brushes? What makes the dc voltage to self excite? Do I put voltage(FLASHING) on the DPE 2-6? Thanks for your help in advance. Rick in Ma |

Doing that check you have ruled out any problems in the generator. You might check all of the wiring to see if it all still connected. The regulator is connected into the output wiring somewhere as a sense line so the regulator knows what to do.
I am thinking you need a voltage regulator if you don't find anything. Mikey |
