Help
I'm trying to get a 4 cyl wisconsin going Everything is hooked up and it runs - but - I'm not sure how to hook up the 4 wires that come from the alternater that is built inside the flyweel. I have a 2 by 3 finned unit rectifier? regulator? - center post maked B+ and outside two maked AC - from another engine and I have a small 3/4 by 1 black plastic unit w/2 wires (like I see on another engine except it has two on it.Sure could use some advise in this area Thanks Rodger |

I took a quick look in a Wisconsin book, and found there are at least 4 types of under-flywheel alternators on these engines, early and late series, and 10 or 30 amp models of each. What is your engine model number? Do you have eyelet terminals, or multiple pin connectors? If you already have one small black box, you may have the newer type, which uses 2 little black boxes, one is the rectifier, and one is the voltage regulator. Email me if I can be of any further help. Could fax you the info I have, if you'd like, scanner is down!

Bob Have VH4D331851 5777025 (runs) with it appears 4 wires from the stator - 2 (red & white)of which go to a small black box - no other connectors on the box - the other 2 (blue terminate in a 2 pin (female)connector
Have VH4D432716 6160158 (busted rod)with only 2 wires comming from the stator - this one had the about 3 by 5 aluminum unit(finned on one side) with 3 terminals (blades) middle B+ and 2 outside ones marked AC Also have one which does not have a tag but looks the same that has 2 small black boxes - 3 wires from stator - black & red to one box and other black to other box Help!!
