Default Two saws for cheap

Hey all

I wouldnt call myself a chainsaw collector but I did score two nice ones from an auction last weekend.

I got a Stihl 07 and a Pioneer 550.
The Stihl was $30 and the Pioneer $10, great price I thought!

The Stihl is in excellent running condition and the Pioneer isnt bad either, (runs but needs a tune, carby needs kitting) they were both filthy when I got them though.

Im pretty impressed with the Stihl quality, it is an extremely well built machine.

I do need a diagram for the oil pump on the Pioneer though if anyone can help?
It had come apart and I have no idea how it reassembles or even if its all there!

Cheers
Ash

Hello Ash
Good finds indeed and good prices as well.I realy like the loks of the Stihl saw, looks like it means to work.I can't neglect you Pioneer find though as those are the saws I mainly collect. The fact that they were made in my home country Canada. As far as parts go look up a search here in North America on Pioneer parts and vintage saw parts. You may also try Consolidated Equipment Supply out of British Columbia Canada.Mike Acres may be able to help you out.Good Luck!

You can't go wrong with Stihl, they were always too expensive for my blood. And I've never heard much bad about Pioneer either.

That's the way to collect chainsaws. The most prized saws I have are the ones I either traded labor for, picked up cheap at garage sales/fleamarts, or traded parts for.

Good price on two nice saws.

I paid $50 for a Sears Craftsman saw with around a 22" bar (I think it was made by Stihl) about 3 years ago. I didn't get it to collect, I got it cause it is stout and starts and runs good and I needed a saw. After finding an outlet for the chains I have had great luck with it. It is more work to use because it is heavy but it will send a good sized tree to the ground in short order. It will make a tree shudder when it sees it, or just turn a downed tree into fire wood in short order!

I would not trade it for a new saw and my $50 back. Okay a Husky may get my attention!
