Default 1948 Briggs and Stratton NS

I picked this Briggs NS up at the Brookville Indiana Swap meet yesterday for almost no money. I was thriled. It had no compression or spark, but a set of cleaned points and some oil down the cylinder later, it started and ran great.

Here it is:

It looks more like a WI then anything else. I think it has the wrong tag on it. Arlie

It looks like a NS to me (like a model N with 7 fins on the block and a suction carb).

I thought a WI only had 5 fins on the block.

It's an NS.They have 7 fins which yours has.Careful where you put the head bolts. There are 2 long bolts that go on the higher holes on the head. Some ding-a-ling in the past put one in the wrong place on mine and busted one of the fins off the block.I see this quite often on N's,6's,8's etc.
Your engine does run quite nice,Jimmy. It must be well balanced cuz i don't see it mounted to anything!

I'm glad to see some one else uses there table saw for many things, I dread even thinking about cleaning mine off to cut a board! Nice engine.

Ha ha most of my videos take place on the table saw. In fact, I don't even remember the last time I used it to cut something...
