Default Tractor Badged Saws

I have three:
Allis Chalmers (Poulan XXV in disguise)

Ford (O&R in disguise)

John Deere (Efco I think in disguise)

My friend Wayne in WA has John Deere saws made by Echo, Remington, and Homelite.
There is a post on the collectors site from a guy who lives in Japan about a Yanmar Wankel saw that dates back to the '70s I think.
So what other tractor saws are out there???
Let's see some pics of what you have.
Eddie

Hello Eddie
Well you have shed light on one for me Allis Chalmers.I have seen the John Deere saws, and the Ford saws, but the Allis Chalmers was new to me.I think I read some place that these saws were made for promotional purposes.Do I have this right Eddie?

Yes Lawrence I think for most tractor folks like Ford and Allis Chalmers the saws were just used as promotional or give aways: buy a new tractor get a free saw. I was not aware that AC had ever marketed saws either. Now I wonder about all the other brands...
John Deere however has tried for many years to be in the hand held business and even bought Green Machine and Homelite but they were never very successful at it, and recently announced they would no longer market green and yellow re-badged anything, and now encourage their dealers to sell STIHL.

Well Michael that is a new one on me. I never heard of an Oliver badged saw. It would be neat to see a pic of what one looked like.

There was a time in the late 70's that everybody tried to market a chainsaw. The supply of oil was in question and the price was high. I seem to remember a Massey Ferguson Chainsaw too.

Speaking of Massey Ferguson chain saws, just happen to have a MF 190 saw with a 12" bar. Appears it has a 31cc engine.

Bought it at an auction sale several years ago but haven't tried to start it yet. It's got pretty good compression when you pull the rope, so with a little effort should run. I had to pay a little more than expected to buy it, as was bidding against a turkey who wanted to take the engine off the saw and install it in a model airplane. Figured he could find a more common chain saw to butcher!!

The Oliver saws were covered in an early issue of the HPOCA magazine. If I remember it was a Clinton saw. (Don't bet the farm on that) By that time most Oliver dealers were selling a chain saw so the issue dies.

akretowicz that sure is a nice looking Remington/JD saw.
Bill, I have never seen a MF saw like that one, nor do I recognize who the manufacturer is. That is a very unusual saw. I will send a coy of your pic to my collector friends in WA and OH who have a couple thousand saws each, and see if they recognize it.
I have seen Bolens badged saws, but never an Oliver.

Eddie,

Be interested in what your friends have to say about the MF190 chainsaw. By the way I just found a NOS parts manual for it on ebay which I bought with a reasonable "Buy it Now"!
