Surface Rust on Rotordoes this matter? ifi sand it off /it wuold prabably recur-i wotuld have to oil it to prevent...this thread has 2 replies and has been viewed 455 times

does this matter? ifi sand it off /it wuold prabably recur-i wotuld have to oil it to prevent recur-is there any harm in this? you just dont see it oiled on new laminated rotors

You can sand it with no problem. Do not use sand paper that has metal in it. Then blow it off or wipe it down with a rag. Do not put oil on it. Rewind shops have a spray that you can use to help keep the rust off. Comes in spray cans. I have used it with good results.

The stuff I have seen used is a Clear Acrylic Lacquer, and just enough to seal the Laminations from the air.
