Default What in the world is this?

I purchased this item from my uncle, but do not have an idea what it was used for. I can tell that it was probably drawn by a horse or mule. It appears to be some kind od grinder. Also I am thinking that a "hopper" should be with this unit for feeding it.

If you have any info I would be greatly appreciative. I can not find any name or model number on it.

Thanks, John

I'd say it is some sort of horse powered feed grinder. Take a look at this web page. Maybe something like the #19??

We have one in the museum that looks the same. Ours is a Stover, I was told that it was used to grind up coal to be used in stoker furnaces. I have seen almost the same machine for grinding grain or corn for feed but the grinders inside are much different.

Wayne,

Thanks for the information. You mentioned that you had a picture of your Stover unit. Would you mind sending me a picture of it if it is not too much bother. My email address is hutchersonsupply@bellsouth.net.

Regards, John
