Default Power Machinery Vancouver BC chainsaw

Found one of these today at the outdoor flea mkt. Good looking saw and nice complete condition. Technically a two man. A small two man. Man and boy maybe.

Power Machinery, Vancouver BC. Not a local builder, by any means!

Interesting linkage from the fluted handlegrips. One looks like a clutch and the other a throttle? Carpal tunnel syndrome in the making...Also an interesting guard around the carb..... so did you buy it?

Oh - Yes, I took it home. I do agree the throttle is different. I had spoke to the seller a few weeks ago and mentioned my interest in old two man saws. He always has a few used ones fixed up and for sale. I am not sure he believed me to be serious, but he brought this one in today and I gave him a pretty fair price for it. So .... Now he asked for my name and number and says he has more . Me hopes the pump is primed.

Hello Peter
Nice find for you there in Mass. Those saws were made just about 45-50 minutes west from where I live today.IEL's were made in Vancouver as well. The PM is a long way from home

They are a nice saw and one of the more unique ones in my collection, I have attempted to buy at least two at auction before unsuccessfully over the years. Right now my shelves are full and when I get a 2MG spiffed up and on the shelf I have to dig out my father's 2 man next. (Then all I need is to buy a new truck to go to engine shows with). Be warned though, chainsaw collecting is a mental illness, I broke my addiction only because of financial constraints. Unless of course I happen to fall over one somewhere I can't resist......

What you picked up is a PM universal...The first one made by Power Machinery. If the serial number is under 5,000 this is the first version of this model......Since it has the back magnesium support attached to the rear tubing i would say it is one of them.
Currently Mike Acres from Vancouver purchased and owns the PM company rights but it is not in production.
