Gib Key Installation?


Hi Guys, What is the best way to put the gib keys back in the crank and flywheel without pounding...

Default Gib Key Installation?

Hi Guys, What is the best way to put the gib keys back in the crank and flywheel without pounding the ends of the keys over?Its on a 3h.p. M.This two pics of the 3h.p. M before and after. Thanks Doug

Brass punch and hammer. It will mash the brass before the end of the key.

Drive the key in lightly. Light taps with the hammer. When the key is snug, one sharp rap of the hammer and the key is set. Use the brass punch if you wish. You will not be hitting the key that hard.

doug i can't help you with the gib keys but you sure have done a nice job on the engine, i hope you get many years of fun out of it..
