Default Wilesco D8 Manual Needed

Hello everyone. I'm glad this forum exists! Now, I bought a Vintage Wilesco Steam Engine (DBP930702) Model D8 on ebay.ca, but the there is no manual with it. I e-mailed Wilesco in Germany, and they sent me a MS-Word attachment of the doc, in German, English and French, mes oui, ya! The problem is, my version of Word doens't understand the unicodes and so the manual is 683 pages long of garble. Can anyone help me find a manual for the D8? Much appreciated!

Nelson.

I had a similar problem with a Wilesco D52 Schiffs-Dampfmaschine ( toy steam boat engine) that a friend gave me a few years ago.

Looks like http://www.sell-it-easy.de/wilesco/m...lish/index.htm may be enough to get you started?

Youtube has plenty of actual videos, must be a popular engine!

Finally, I have pretty much abandoned MS_WORD and MS-Office in favor of a FREE and easy to use application called OpenOffice. It seems to work better for my simple needs and it's , well did I say FREE >>> http://www.openoffice.org/ It might open that MS_Word doc as it seems to be updated more often than Word. Could be worth a try at opening your factory *doc manual?

Hey Jasper! That last link was it! Thank you sir!

I actually tried OPenOffice, and it gave me the same results as Word.

Thanks again and cheers!

Nelson.
