How to pull roller bearings from V4 Wisconsin crank?

Does anyone have any idea on how to pull the roller bearings off a v4 wisconsin crank? There isnt room to get a puller in there and pounding a wedge behing them isnt working. Any ideas?

IF I CAN'T GET MY HANDS ON A PULLER....THIS IS HOW I HAVE DONE IT OUT IN THE FIELD ON A REPAIR JOB. When I have to replace the complete roller bearing (like a Timken tapered) I usually cut the race and remove the cage & rollers. Then I use a Dremel moto tool with a thin cutting disc to cut a nice pair of grooves across the bearing inner race 180 degrees apart.I then apply a good sharp cold chisel and 16 oz. ball peen hammer into one of the grooves. Being careful and judicious on the force will get you a split inner bearing race. Cleaning the shaft will get you ready for installing the new bearing.

some mechanics would have them,probbaly a machine shop too.I've seen em in a store called northern merchandise down south from here too.tem are cheap but for the few times you's use it it would be ok.Check at menards ,or places that have a varity of tools,tractor supply mabe?Good luck Tom.

Check with a local auto part store or a tool rental place. I am sure you can find one to rent.

Be very careful if you use a chisel on a bearing, I know three people that lost eyes like this. One was a mechanic at the dealer I worked for years ago. Another man brought a car to a restorer here in town. His wife had to describe everything that was being done to it, he lost his only eye trying to change a burnt bearing on the side of the road. The third was a construction worker. Whenever you do this kind of work, use eye protection and be sure there's no other unprotected eyes in the area.

If you don't want flying bearings going everywhere, wrap the area in a shop rag and itshould keep everything altogether. Done this when butting and chiseling bearings and didn't have any debris fly up...

My dad knows a mechanic guy, Ill see what he has. He used to work in a factory and he stole all their tools. If they had one he has it now.

You cant be to carful, I have a metal plate screwed to my collar bone because I wasnt careful enough.

I just thought Id mention I got these off. My dad mechanic friend didnt have a puller. He used a air chisel with a long rod. They pretty much just slid right off with that. If anyone has that problem Id give this a try.
