Purchased this engine at an auction this spring. Serial plate states it's a 1 1/2 hp Model E. Can...

Default Please Identify

Purchased this engine at an auction this spring. Serial plate states it's a 1 1/2 hp Model E. Can someone please tell me what I've purchased?

She's a Hercules, Model E... and a nice looking one, at that.

That's an Economy made by Hercules and sold by Sears. That's what the red paint tells me. Hopper shape is different on an Economy compared to a Hercules too.

Hercules Made it - Sold as an Economy by Sears. Economy's have square hoppers. Nice Purchase and they are good runners.

Yeah, it's a Hercules made Economy, the green one behind it looks like it's a Hercules.
