Thanks for all of the picture's guys I enjoy looking at them. Wouldn't it be something to step back in time and just walk up and join one of those drilling crews, or to have been one of those at the REID banquet.
Thanks
Danny

These are describing hot tube ignition. The first one is a Atkinson, second is a Charter, third is a Crossley, Fourth is a Weber, fifth is a Clerk, Six is a Martini, and last is another Crossley.

Not really Oilfield related but, DUDE! Check out that Martini Engine! That is one cool looking machine. vertical Flyball governor driven off the crank! And a tilted hot tube, not sure what the thinking is behind the tilting tube , but it looks cool!

Picture of the Tidewater Pump station in Rixford PA being demolished. Oil was pumped from the Bradford PA oilfield to NJ refineries. Tidewater was formed by independent oil producers because Standard Oil would not accept their oil in their pipelines.Click image for larger version

When I was a kid growing up in the Bradford PA oilfields I used to visit the old standard rigs watching driller sitting on the stool also watching them dress a bit. My fatherinlaw was a pumper by day for Pennzoil and a tool dresser at night.

Tidewater (Associated) (Getty) and at one time,Tidewater Associated, had a pump statiin about every 50 miles, from Kern county (Mericopa,Taft, and Bakersfield) to the Avon (San Francisco) refinery. They were put in about 1906-1909,and each had five, family houses on site. They each had a 6kw,120 volt D.C, steam engine driven generator to supply power to the whole site. The women had certain days that they could use the electricity to do washing and ironing, so it wouldn't overload the generator

The Tidewater pump stations from Bradford PA fields to NJ communicated by telegraph. When I was a kid (late 1940s & 50s) I used to go to the Rixford PA station and watch them sending and receiving Morse Code messages.

Here are some more pictures I've found.
the first is a rough picture of a Black Bear engine, I'm pretty sure someone from the Stak sent this to me, But I cannot remember who?
the second is a spec sheet for the "Oil Country" Superior's.

Does anyone have any old Supply catalog pictures of 2 cycle Pattin Bros Engines?
