Hi
I have an FH that needs a new flywheel, I swapped it out with a later FH flywheel and it bottomed out against the breaker points. upon a close inspection the later flywheel has a bigger mounting hole, has anyone else ever experienced this? I thought they all used the same flywheel. Thanks Bob

Never had that problem. And i've made the swap from one of the most early FH flywheels to one of the latest. No troubles. Could be that flywheel is worn in an unknown way=enlarged hole. There is an old time trick to correct that. Just like they did on old Model T ford hubs. Cut a thin strip of brass or aluminum and wrap it around the shaft. wedging it against the flywheel hub and shaft which also spaces the flywheel OUT a little but it shouldnt hurt anything. If you dont have a thin strip of brass, use an aluminum can. I found that "Hobby Lobby" ( A hobby and crafts store ) has brass strip. It was in the models section. Next time i need shims thats were i'll go.
