Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone can add any info on a "Jacko" steam/hot water system. Could one of these be modified to take steam pressure on 20-30 psi?
All the knoweldge i have on these is that they had a weighted saftey, sight glass and guages.

Cheers, Will

Just extracted this from the archives. Looks like if you have a No 3 or 4 size you have 50psi to play with. I have seen one of these powering a steam engine.

Must admit that I haven't had anything to do with these systems, have however seen some scary hot water heating systems around the place seem to remember seeing relief valves with weights attached on some strange hot water systems when playing sport in the bush over the years.Seem to remember one exploding some years back in WA at a football ground, wasn't there thank god.Spent 20 years in the regular army we used a " put and take"system,(you had to have 2 buckets, pour cold water in the top at one end and catch the outflow of hot water at the other end).Inlet pipe needs to go to low in the tank, outlet off the top.Water heated by whatever is available, normally wood under a 44 gallon drum layed on its side,Norm
