Lutl:

With tongue in cheek, I will say that the engine you have is the very rare VonStiglitz Poppenfuehrer.

To be serious, a photo and some other data on the engine would be very helpful.

I can't help it! I was born this way!

Take care - Elden

Lutl:

I made my comment while you were sending the photos. The engine is very unusual and interesting but I don't have a clue as to what the make is.

Take care - Elden

Hi Lutl,
your English is very good.
Sorry I do not know your very desirable engine's make. It would look good in a motor cycle.
Maybe you could narrow your search down by checking what makers engines use the oil and fuel filters fitted to your engine by the filter part numbers.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

Lutl,
Your engine is a German made Farymann diesel engine. Probably about 18-20 hp at 3000 RPM. Farymann is now owned by Greaves. I looked at their website and it looks they only offer single cylinder engines now.

Jeff beat me to the keyboard! Yes, it is a Farymann. In marine use they were rated at 30 hp and had fiberglass water jackets fitted to the cylinders. I might have the marine manual in one of my storage boxes.
