Wow, I just saw both of these engines sell at an auction in June.

Wonder if its legit or a scammer who lifted the photos from the auction ads and is trying to get some poor chap to send him a 20% down payment. I would be very cautious on one like this. The tell tale sign would be to contact the owner and ask "just curious, can you give me some history on the engines". If they come off with "my great grandfather purchased them new" we know what's going on.

(If the reply is something like "my father grand purchase new and use years go" then we REALLY know what's going on.....)

If you want to check up on a phone number, just put it in Google and see all the ads ever run by this person.

They are different pictures than what was on the auction bill, and it looks like he has done a little bit of work to the engines, with rigging up fuel tanks, etc. The phone number is for Melfort Sask. so that is only a couple of hours from the original auction sale site, so I think it someone trying to make some money on reselling the engines and looks legit to me. What he means by elevator engine, is that both of these engines were removed from a Grain elevator, if memory serves me right they said at the auction that the Fairbanks came out of a Saskatchewan Wheat Pool grain elevator at Girven Sask.
