Default First to go

Here's the best photo I could find of myself: waving to my kids at the Steam-Era parade last year.

Got into collecting farm equipment four years ago, mostly IH stuff. Grandpa had a family farm with Masseys, Case, IH and a few horses but its gone now....wonderful childhood memories. My kids just love going to the Engine and Tractor shows with me.

Professionally I'm an Engineer, but still learn a lot from the oldtimers about engines. Can't get enough of the elderly iron.

Check out my IH Collectors group in the forum.

take care,
Steve

[IMG][IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG]i gess this would be a good intro. i now have a computer to use, i have been following smokstak for years, now i can be a part of it.
i come from a family of old iron heads and such, runs in the blood, i could lay next to my friend's model b jonny popper and fall asleep to it's music, the closest i can come to that is the 19d briggs i was working on today. i dont know about you guys but im ready to put it to work plowing this spring.
right now im currently living in north williamsburg, ma. last summer i started a small part time garden tools blacksmith/metalsmith operation, trying to put good solid forged hand tools back onto the market...made in the U.S.A.! a skill i learned out in ohio with the minonites, i also do custume welding and fab. my other job is building and reparing houses.........to start off with here is my speedex model c with a modified david bradley dozer plow, which i built to pin into the rear tool bar to push from the back, the frount mount was trown together before the 1st snowstorm, i will cut it off and build a new one lator, over the rear tool bar a sears suberban tractor weight sits on 2 rail road j-hooks with spikes welded to the back, ''plow baby'' as we call it is powered by my 1960's breadbox briggs 4hp from my rototiller to save the original iron head model 8 from wear.[IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG]some of my price-minded welded garden tools i make and sell, i will post my solid forged ones, i sold them all before i could take pic.s,
ok then, u all have a nice evening!!
