Default New guy wanted to say Hi

Hi all, just joined to pick up some info, and make some friends.
Came over here from Lister Forum.
I have a Listeroid I went through, not really what you guys are into. Will pick up a real oldie if I can find something that I like.

Is there a spot that you guys talk about Listeroids at Smokstak?

Other than the Listeroid, I'm working on going off the grid.
I have a machine/sheet metal shop I run a small mechanical contracting business from.

Here is some Listeroid pics.

Hi WGB from another UK Lister nut - D's and G's in my case.

Not sure they call it the grid in the US? They dont call a ring main a ring main.

The grid is electricity company supplied electricity. The stuff that comes on poles, for the benefit of our hosts.

I read a web article just the other week about a UK guy who went off-grid with a restored Lister CS. Got the electric bits new from China. I think the whole thing cost him under £1200 and he worked out a way to use the heated water to part heat his house.

he started something called the Lister CS Owners Group who merged with some green outfit. Newsgroup here http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Lister_CSOG/
