Here are some pics of a 50 H.P. Reeves 3 cylinder engine. It was at the Tippecanoe Steam and Power. Anyone else seen one of these? They were made in Mt. Vernon Ohio.

Hello Fred--Is that engine diesel or gas,is it fired with a spark plug? If so, I might have a KW high bar mag that fits it! If interested let me know.

Hi Fred... I am part owner in a 3 cyl Reeves. It is missing a lot of parts. Do you know the owner of the one you have pictured. Been looking for parts for many years without much luck. I also have a 1 cyl version, ignitor fired hit and miss. I would like info on either of these engines. Thanks Ed

Is your 1 cyl. ignitor fired hit and miss Reeves engine manufactured by the Reeves Pulley Company of Columbus, Indiana? What is the horsepower of this engine? Doies it have a tag on it? Thanks! Don |

Don.... no tag. What research I turned up, it may be a 12HP, 8 1/2" bore. and built by Reeves Engineering or posibley Reeves Bros. Ed

D Reachard, It was set up for natural gas. I guess the person that owned it has not been able to get it to run but 1 time.
I'm still trying to get ahold of Richard to find out the bore and stroke of his 12 H.P. N. Sorry so slow. Fred

Attached are scans from Reeves Engineering Co catalog (1912), Mt Vernon, Ohio. Hope these can be some help to you.

Thanks Roger.... that is some GREAT info you posted. Just got back from an engine show in Prescott, read your post, and could not wait to measure the old gal. By using the precise yardstick method, I have a 15HP engine. WOW!! Now if I could find a mixer, fuel pump, and another truck load of ambition, I would get back to work on it. LOL
Thanks again Ed |
