The 1A Eclipse appeared in the mid to late 'teens. For some reason the Eclipse engines used a completely different numbering system to the rest of the Fairbanks-Morse line and no records exist to date them.
Here are my No.1 and 1A Eclipse:

My 1A was sold out of Qld buy my No.1 was sold by Dangar-Geyde. My 1A is fitted with the F-M 'export' magneto bracket while the No.1 has a chain drive setup. It is not the only early Eclipse engine I have seen with the chain drive but I don't know if it was done by F-M or (more likely) by Dangar-Geyde. Both of my little Eclipses run but old No.1 is due for a repaint (it was restored nearly 30 years ago) and the 1A needs a general tidy up.

I have only seen the hopper extension on the No.1 & No.2. I should see if the one on my No.1 will fit on the 1A (I have a suspicion it may not). If it does I could get a couple cast.
I have had a few Eclipse bits cast with some success.
