Default 1.5HP Gade engine on a factory cart found

at the Wolgemuth Auction in Leola, Pa. (8-11-2009) is now in my back yard. It just needs a correct battery box, handle and some TLC for the low 3 digit serial # engine. They sold 125 engines + a lot of other stuff. I only bought one engine, the one I was after. Engine prices went from $10 for a Reo , to $29,500 for the reproduction Springfield. The 1.5HP New Holland only brought $13,000 . The auction was well run, and I sure ran into a lot of Stackers and friends from all over the country and Canada .

Nice little Gade. They are good all day runners. I sure wish I could have been at that auction. I bought and engine there today and will post a story and photos when I get it home.

Today, after the flea market , I redid the wiring, cleaned the gas tank and sealed it, cleaned the exhaust valve, checked all the nuts and bolts, checked the timing, hooked up the buzz coil, and away she went. Runs nice with that ported exhaust . Need to make a battery box, a handle for the trucks (steel ordered from McC and will be here Monday) and a few other things to get it the way I want it . Starbolt is sending me a Gade catalog and it should be here real quick .

Battery box built. Just need the hardware, drill a hole or two and wire up the $1.00 buzz coil (that now works ) I found Friday at the flea market . Might work on the handle tomorrow if I get a chance...

You might work on the handle if you get a chance. Did you forget your retired? You stay away from those flea markets you would get a lot more done around the house. Looking good.

Well, today 8-21 became tomorrow from my last post on 8-17 . Just busy doing things I like . Anyway, today I made up the cart handle and brackets and if I must say so, it came out nice . All I have to do is grind off the long bolts and stain/paint the handle, but the storm (Bill) is dropping a lot of rain on us. Maybe tomorrow . Did I say the Gade runs nice............
