Default Crossley QVD5

I am in need of an operators manual for a large Crossley QVD5 that a fellow restorer has obtained. It only needs minor attention and hopefully when we connect water, fuel and air we should have a start. The owner may even give our Club custody of this engine once we get her running which would mean another extension on our Club shed.
This was a back up power supply for one of our local winerys and has not been run for at least 30 years to the best of our knowledge, unfortunately there are no running books or manuals with the engine and the large cast meffler is long gone. Thankfully it was always shedded and not in the winery scrap heap!
regards
Jim

Further to my earlier posting the serial no is 143616. It is 250hp at 500rpm.
If anyone can also assist with a date for this engine it would be much appreciated.
regards
Jim

I bet if you shot off a email to this mob they would be able to help. http://www.realdiesels.co.uk/index.html Have a look at the Crossly link on the home page. Gives all the engine data but no dates

The Anson museum in England has all the records on Crossley engines and can be helpful with some of this stuff. Give them a try.

I have already sent an email to the Anson museum, but have not had a reply yet. They are usually very helpful, we have obtained information off them in the past when we were working on our big National engine and required tech info for it.
As we don't own this engine unfortunately it can't/wont be traded off, sorry guys.
I am sure it can from Lindemans winery, it was known to our Club beforehand, we should have grabbed it then but it may still come our way.
regards
JIm

Yes Will,
It would look good beside all our others, time will tell. We are about to start work on getting it restarted, should be relatively easy as it is complete, only minor repairs and connect to fuel, water and air.
Thanks is extended to Paul from Internal Fire for PFD of manual.
regards
Jim
