Shore on those machines over the years,I feel you may have her running a bit fast-----could perhaps be the exhaust noise as they were a very quiet motor when muffled correctly.Good to see it running,well done Norm

yeah more noise than anything, dad says it's running about right from memory muffler was rusted to pieces same as the water tank, the governor is actually fully closed I tried to test it by closing it to see if it responded and couldn't go any further, I need to find a load for it

You might want to check the butterfly on the governor for leaks. You should be able to stop the engine by fully closing the governor.

Thats great. Bit on the noisy side in the shed with no muffler,but that couldn't be helped. To hear it run for the first time is a great feeling isn't it. Bet you couldn't wipe the smile off the dial for quite a while....well done.....Phil

No......no i couldn't. Cheers for the compliments guys.

got the fuel tank nearly done just have to seal a leak and make a bracket to mount it. Then I can start on the cooling tank. More pics as get it done.

Got the tank finished although i stuffed up the outlet it's a bit on the piss and gave her a tub, I dunno whether i should paint it tho??????

It looks like it has a lot of original paint so I would be tempted to leave it as is; but I have seen a few of these beautifully painted and finished and they can be real eye catchers.

yeah i think i might leave it as is, im trying to find something to run off of it, i know of an old 32v generator if i can pry out of the owners hands..........

Got a mufflerer builted for it. Just needs painting with some pot belly black when I get some to finish and straiten the pipe on the engine my attempts to remove it have bent it..
