Try these people,

they have helped me a few times. Make sure to tell them it is in a welder.

mandmsurplus.com also has Hoof governors on their parts/support list. Good luck.

Just to put it out there, I found a number that superceded the original number on the old governor.
Old number was: TM20S00406 New number is:TM27S05161
That was of a BIG40G Miller welder.
I found it at MARINDUSTRIAL ( www.marind.ca )http://www.marind.ca/contact_us/contact_us.html
Thanks for the input from all.

Glad you found it. Just going to add a link for anyone else looking. Those were Pierce Hoof governors the company is now called Pierce Lockcraft.

Can find manuals for engine at Wisconsin Motors site.

I see $385.00 for rebuilt Hoof / Pierce governors on Bill's site in OKC. I'm not that familiar with who would have them in stock or rebuilt exchange in your area. Might check Miller or Lincoln websites for service dealers in your area and call some of those shops. Montes has lots of Continental parts also. All I have right now are some NOS belt pulley drive governors.

Not much telling but when you think about how much that governor is working on a welder it all adds up to lots of wear on the governor and everything in the engine over time. When a governor is acting wrong it's time to fix it right then not later till it explodes or something else goes wrong. Could be from just governor wear then a over speed or other problems caused it. Seen what bad governors can do to the mag impulse drive wearing them out worse or if the magneto impulse is never given attention and allowed to get completely worn out it can lock up or bust out a hole in back side of the mag too just like your governor did. Either or both doing that can take out each other or other engine components too when they go. That's sad what you got there because nothing much to exchange on a rebuilt.

I was looking through a manual for older Lincoln shorthood SA200 and saw some early F162 Continental could also use a Monarch brand governor.
