Default Solar Onan Welding Gen. Info

Hi all I have been looking for a generator for sometime, and ran across this setup at my local salvage yard complete with it's own trailer. The price was right "Free" so I towed it home. The motor has a bad rod I was told.

As far as I can tell the Generator is AC 120 Volt 29 Amps and needs 1800RPM to do so. Correct me If I am wrong.

I have a number of ?'s about it.

What year is it?
What's it Value now? (Bad Rod in motor)
What's it Value with the motor rebuilt?
Are there rebuilt kits for the motor?
Can and how do you "Rebuild or freshen up" the Generator?

Thanks, I look forward to some answers.

Looks like CCK on the tag. If it is parts are out there you just have to look. They made thousands of the things. Very good engine.

I tired to start the engine, and I am not getting any spark! Any places to check?

Yup looks like an Onan CCK to me... most likely the points need a little cleaning or replaced. They are kind of a bugger to get to mounted behind and below the carb. I usually take the intake manifold off when I need to work on them... most of the time you can reuse the intake gaskets.

There are millions of those engines around... I have several and haven't paid more than 50.00 for any of them...

Parts are kind of hard to come by since Cummins now owns Onan and they have the parts supply on lockdown... as far as I know you HAVE to go to a Cummins dealer. Prices aren't as bad as you'd expect though..

It looks identical to the P&H welder that I have, except that mine is painted blue-green. It powered our house for 10 days after hurricane Gloria.
