Help just purchased 1945 W6 with backhoe winch drum & mechanics, body biult here in nz. Need help...

Question Ackermann Backhoes

Help just purchased 1945 W6 with backhoe winch drum & mechanics, body biult here in nz. Need help how to drive & info about it

Don't know any thing about them, but suggest you find a bit of dirt and have a play, but play gentle with the old girls.

Nice outfit! What engine is on the excavator? Make sure the drum clutches and brakes work properly and as Pete says, a lot of exercising.

I did not notice that, but yes I would also say it works off the PTO,

Thanks Jonty for puttin a photo on tractor is a 1945 w6 done 5250 original hours on the hour meter. Digger unit is driven off the pto & drives the winch drums. Used it at rally very hard to drive but alot of fun hopefully it will be at world ploughing champs in Methven NZ next year!
