Went antiqueing. This has an electric heated boiler with a horizontal oscillitating engine. Probably from the 1930s.
Any info on the maker? Thanks, Bob |

I'm sure that is a homemade model and not a proprietary model

The engine base looks like an iron casting. Doubtful that a home builder went through that kind of trouble for a one off project... unless it was adapted from something else

Odd engine!
Base does look somewhat like it was adapted from something else. But, that 'something' was very close to the final engine. May have been adapted from an air pump, also I have seen similar flywheels on sewing machine treadles and dentist drills of 1910-30's. The steam lines look to be from automotive brake lines and fittings. So, hard to tell if its a really well made 'homemade' model. Or, is it some factory made unit adapted from old inventory or another supplier? Definitely the only on I have ever seen like it! |

Would have to say that it looks to be a marriage of the boiler and what appears to be a wobbler engine.
and both put on a slab of wood. Since the casting appears also to be set up for the engine with all the oil cups etc. It might have been taken off an early sewing machine commercial or a shoe,or leather goods makers shop or the a fore mention Dentist drill. Since the steam could have been feed from a communal boiler in a shoe shop. The later dating line makes sense. A very nice find!
