Default Anyone know how old this type of seeder is??

Here is picture of an old seeder. Does anyone know who made it? Is it horsedrawn? What type of seeds can it plant?

It is horse drawn. I believe it was used for small grain(oats, wheat, barley etc).Thats my guess. Dick

Measure the width of it once. A lot of them were close to 40 inches in width so you could sow wheat between standing rows of corn in the fall. No numbers or names on any of the castings?

Thanks for the info. I've only seen pics of it, I'm hopeing to buy it. The owner says it's about 36" wide and the casting numbers he's found are two numbers followed by the letter F, ie. 52F etc.

So they would have a single horse pull it between rows of corn for fall planting. Corn still standing for drydown? or already off the field and just between the stubble?
