Our clubs 2 large horizontal diesel engines, being started up on a open we had a few weeks ago. If you're in new zealand, call into our club on a wednsday and have a look. Also home to home of the largest stationary engine collections in NZ. Formed in 1987, the Whangarei Stationary Engine Club, located at Heritage Park Whangarei, has an evergrowing collection, starting out with just one shed in it's early years, it now has three sheds that are almost full. Currently the club is pushing for an extension to the main building, due to the acquisition of its fourth big engine, a 3 cylinder 2 stroke Petter Atomic Diesel marine engine which is currently undergoing a full restoration and spent half its life running a sawmill on an island in Fiji. Many of the engines in the collection have not been run for many years so I have decided to take a break from restoring rusty hulks and devoting my club time to getting most of these engines[some not run for at least 10 years] back to running order, so keep an eye out on youtube for more videos as I get around to each one.
Currently our club does not have a website[but it should] so I have offered to sort something out for them, but not having much luck as building a website is going to be harder than I thought.
Please feel free to comment and rate the videos.
Enjoy,
Regan.
