Default Chemetron Sureweld Model DRCP-250T

Hi everyone, I'm new to this, so if anyone can help me out there, here is my problem.I have a Chemetron Sureweld machine that I use for mig welding. It's a 200 volt three phase unit. It worked fine for many years until last. An electrician friend of mine found that the finned rectifier was burned through and was causing the problem. Does anyone out there know of a unit like this or knows where I might obtain this part, thanks Will

Are you talking a rectifier made from many flat plate that are usually square?
If so these are old selenium type rectifiers. I do not know if any are still made. You could build a rectifier assemble using stud mount rectifier. You can buy industrial rectifier diode with forward current of around 500 amps. I have never price one this large but I bet they are pricey. The Peak Reverse voltage of 600 volts is higher than needed for a welder. Depending on how your welders secondary is set up you will need at least four to build a bridge rectifier or you could need as many a 12. If you would need 12 you most likely would not need diodes with the very forward current.

Hi Kent, thanks for the info on my Chemetron mig welding power unit. I never gave it a thought about making a new one, that's a great idea. I'll ask my electrician to remove it and go from there. I'll let you know how it turns out, thanks again, Will
