The compound needs to be set at 30 degrees (half the angle) to get a 60 tip but that seems awful steep to me. What is it for?

Ray, Since the point angle is included, the coumpound would be set over 30 degrees from the centerline of the spindle.

thanks guys. im thinking the angle will be 60 but i havent measured yet and am taking a guess. i am going to try making the needle valves for my 3hp m. or at least practice making them
