Default Piezo Ignitor Test

For those of you who are interested, the piezo ignitor lasted 111,000 strokes. I will try to autopsy it tomorrow. For details of the test, see my site:

You are the man Steve! I think this answers some of the questions of how effective these can be for ignition systems on our old engines. Neat set-up! I also recommend visiting Steve`s web site. Lots of interesting things to see!

Hi Steve, so on my 6 mule team that fires once every 45 seconds (I can get it slower, but then it quits) that would give me 1,387 hrs of run time. Running for 8 hrs at a one day show and if I could make 10 shows a year that would last me 17 years. Not bad. Now my question is, if I were to mount one to the engine block, put a tab on the trip arm and adjust it to trip at the same time as the ignitor, would it fire the ignitor? Or would it damage it, I don't know what kind of voltage were talking here. By the way Steve, have you considered getting a job counting votes in Florida? David.
