Default Hobart G 213 powered by a TJD. 12 or 24V

Hi I'm new to this forum and new to a gas powered unit. I bought a Hobart G213 powered by a 2cyl Wis. TJD. It was running when I came to pick it up. The seller jump started it. It had no batteries. The batteries mount up high. He hadn't had them in it for years. He said they were twelve volt. He didn't know if they were together for cranking power or to create twenty four volts?? I don't know much about welding and know nothing about this machine except that it runs like a top. I searched your forum and you guys really know your stuff. I have a million questions but i figured I'd start out small. Oh it also starts through the generator. I will post pics but can't for a couple days. Also I paid $300 with no leads. A buddy had a spare to loan me. Thanks Steve

I think those were 24V and thought someone else on here had posted about same thing before?

Thank you, I searched the forum but couldn't find a definitive answer, or a way to make sure. Thanks

Just seems recently saw someone post about that with starter on the welder armature but couldn't find it either. I might have saw it on other welding forums too ? Like forum at Hobart, Miller, Lincoln, AWS, Welding Web ?

Figured it out. It is 24V to start through the armature. Up and running. Thanks
