Default Wico EK problems

I have a IHC 1 1/2HP. I have been reading and testing mag, but still no spark. Started out cleaned points and wire connections, oiled, set points. Condensor wires were frayed where they turned corner to go down to connection point, resoldered on new wire. Condensor did test to infinity on digital ohm meter, but thinking about replacing. Ohmed out coils and they seem good.

The main question I have is: should spark wire contact point on side of coil (soldered button) and ground to cover point on side of coil ohm to anything, they don't ohm to ground or each other or coil primary leads. I had to solder button back on spark side, but didn't have any trouble doing (like overheating).

Sorry, no reply, it's me original post. I tested the condensor with a Capacitor testor and found it bad (will order a new one tommorrow). My question above deals with the wiring diagram found on old-engine.com (given as a reference to this forum). On the type 2 Wico EK mag (not sure what mine is) it shows the animated dispay of the points and spark on right. This diagram shows the spark plug tied to the secondary coil. When I check the spark wire contact point on coil it will not show any resitance to anything, it looks like I should be able to pick up something through the coil it is on. Both coils appear to be tied together at top, just below where condensor sits and I can ohm or check resistance between both coils together and get a 1.5 ohm reading.

where the plug wire connects there should be a spring that contacts the soldered button on the coil it self. the coils may be bad and need replaced but thats a starting point. are the points set at .020 ? thats what they should be set at

Mike ,
For Type 2 drive place a twist drill or a strip of brass 3/32" in diameter or thickness between armature & coil cores and adjust points to be just opening.
