Standard coarse thread is 5/8-11 ( as Andrew stated )

If you have what you believe to be a 5/8-10 bolt, take a new 3/4" coarse thread bolt ( 3/4-10 NC ) and lay the threads on top of each other. If they match perfectly, it is 10 threads per inch and it will a special ( meaning expensive) tap and die set.

If it's 5/8-11, that will be easy.

Do you need the die to cut new threads or just to clean/restore old bolts?

Try Travers Tool Co. They are one of the few places that stock 1/2-12 taps and dies for us old iron folks. I believe they have a minimum order value, but those two items should be enough to cover if they have them.

Definetly 5/8x10 guys as verified with a thread gauge

We need for both a chaser and making new threads.

Mike, I'll check out the above mentioned business.

Thanks guys;
Rick

MSC usually carries odd pitch tap and dies. I am not sure about series 10 though.
