That's a newer one, type H or K? I think it is a throttle governed Kerosene burner.

It is a type K throttler. The bent rod that passes through the brackets above the head is the fuel pump lever. The fuel pump is built into the carburetor. Although you don't see them at every show that you go to, there are several of them out there.

Lauren, This is the first throttle-governed Waterloo Boy engine that I have seen. Nice engine. Is this the engine that Jan & Ed are planning on taking to the Woodland, Ca, swapmeet in a couple weeks? If so, someone will get a nice engine. John

What sort of information does your friend need? I have played with several Waterloo Boy throttlers.

My friends are taking it to a swap meet to sell. Since the tag was gone we knew it looked like a Waterloo but were unsure. We you say it is a Waterloo Engine or a Waterboy? It is always nice to know something about what you are selling. We would like some basic information about the engine. The information that we have received so far has been helpful. Thank, Lauren

Its a 2 HP Waterloo Boy Kerosene throttle governed engine. They were made from around the 1919-1924 time frame by John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa. I think the first ones used Webster ignition like this one, and the later ones used Wizard ignition. They wer made in 2,3,5,7,9,& 14 HP versions.

There were also some sold to the Wonder Cement Mixer company and sold as Wonder engines too.

I wish you were a little closer to Iowa. It would be a great little engine to add to the collection!

You don't run across the K models too often. That hole in the top of the mixer is where the water line goes from the hopper....to prevent detonation running under load. Good engines. Run like a watch. That one in my Avatar is a 3hp.http://www.smokstak.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58706
