Default Gate Fee for Public at Show

Our gate fee has been $5 as long as I have been active in the club. What is the fee at other clubs around the county?

Our little club charges no admission to the shows, but there are donation buckets around the grounds that say "your donation will help keep this a free show". I think donations average about $5 a person, but people feel better about it if they're not forced to pay at the gate. Once in a while, a $50 or even $100 will show up...

I agree with Ronm.Our main show has FREE admission & ALLWAYS will be. Tha plan when this was organized was that it would be that way & use raffles,donations,vendor fees & other fundraisers to fund it.Most of the people that display there ,long ago agreed to only do it as long as it could be a free event.We want a place where a single parent or low income family can take the kid's at little or no cost & learn a little history.Although i am not a member of the club because of my distance from their location,myself & friends & family attend alot of the fundraisers they hold.We have not missed setting up a decent display of engines & working equipment in about 8 or 9 years now.I might add,that this show grows bigger every year.

Dave our local show is $2. donation for non members and free for members. $5. is not out of line for the show you have, there are a lot of expensives to put on a show that size. See you next year.

Shows I've been to the last couple years range from free to $10.00.
I like Rons show idea.

The club that i no longer belong to charges a $5 reg fee per tractor and a $3 gate fee per person. The $3 gate fee i felt was ok but to bring your tractor to show and get charged $5 NOT ME and the club was not hurting for money.

At Williams Grove exhibitors are given an entry pass, show workers are given a pass and wooden nickels for meals, the gate charge for the general public is $2.00. Which I think is a heck of a deal !

Exhibitors and workers are also given a show plaque.
And there are those that complain $2.00 is highway robbery!

I see that I wrote county when I meant country. Now the rest of you can give your opinion.

The gate fee at our show is $3 for adults, which is a great deal for what you can see and do there. My mother usually volunteers to work one of the gates and you wouldn't believe the stories some people come up with to try to get in free.

That depends on what the show offers..some 2.50 gate shows are worth 5....some 4 and 5.00 shows SHOULD be 2.50.
There is one show that is 10.00 too much in my book{for what they display}

At the membership meeting today it was voted to raise the gate fee to $6. The board will make the final decision, but I think it very unlikley that they will overturn this.

Members get in free so this doesn't effect them at all.

The flea market will stay at $60 which is your selling space and primitive camper space.

It was pointed out that some people were selling from campsites and others were in engine rows (Free with a worthy display) with everything for sale. Some more abuses to be watched for next year.
