I have a eighteen horsepower kohler that has been sitting outside under a canvas for a few years. I need the magneto for another engine, is there anything I can spray it with to seal it?

I have used Clear Acrylic Top Coat spray paint to seal tha caps of WICO and FM mags. Is this engine a M-18 Kohler?

I believe it is a model kt 18. It is on a gravely tractor. I just want to seal it against the weather.

Clean it well and use clear acrylic as said but not over tons of old paint and dirt. Be aware that old lead based paints and dirt will cause tracking on the dist cap and misfiring why it needs to be clean first.
