Here is one site that I've used in the past, It does work!
If you want to use a different kind of motor, search the web or

Christian,

Check out www.Otherpower.com, there are a lot of ideas there for using your motor idea.

I dont have a real good idea of how acurate this is but i use to hear alot of the old time electrical engineer's that had a saying as the fallowing:

A generator can make an electric motor, but not a very good one and a motor can make a generator, but not a very good one.

I'd say the use of the design has alot to do with it. Im not an electrical engineer so i cant go into spacifics. If there's any truth to this at all.

Exclamation Re: electric motor to generator?

A brush type motor, with permanant magnets can be both motor and generator. Most battery operated childs riding cars use a 12 volt motor. When the car gets busted, or outgrown, salvage the motor, and drive it with an engine. It will make power. For years, Wisconsin, Kohler and others used Delco-Remy starter-generators on their engines. The generator acted as a motor to start the engine, and once started, the engine turned the motor, and made it a generator, to recharge the battery. It was ineffecient, but it did the job, and the units lasted a long time!

Pumped Storage hydro electric plants use motor generators that are equally efficient either way.

I helped recondition and upgrade the units at Muddy Run in Pennsylvania.
