Question Anybody played with Google "Sketchup"?

A friend showed me this program, it's pretty neat and fairly easy to use. Best thing is it's free... I built a 3D model of my shop with it.... you can move around inside, build things and place them, and there's a whole bunch of downloadable "stuff" that others have built.

I tried it and it really screwed up my computer. It wouldn't even let me uninstall it. It's taken 6 to 8 months of trying different things to get rid of it and I think I finally succeeded. The computer seems to be working much better now that its gone. It may not have been the Sketchup alone that caused the problem as it was down loaded with other Google items. I had to remove all of the Google stuff to get rid of the Sketchup. The reason I thought it was the main problem is because it wouldn't let me uninstall it. Mark:

There is no such thing as a free lunch. Baggage comes along with most all downloads of "free" software. Your mileage may vary.

I agree Harry, I however have had no problems with it at all. One thing to be weary of when downloading "free" software is more often than not the optional crap that you don't want is defaulted to load with it and you have to "un-check" the box that says do you want this (and it's usually something you should not download)...

as Harry said your mileage may vary.
