Default Sumter Type HLA

Does anyone have a site where mags are charted as to what they fit? I'd like to find out what this mag might go on. Most of the Sumters I have seen referenced have numbers instead of letters.
Thanks for any replies,
Alan

This link lists the H and other letter series in dimension charts but don't see or know of a application chart by itself. Sumter was used on some early FM Z engines and many others. Maybe guys on engine boards can tell you what it fits. Sumter was later taken over Splitdorf and Edison Splitdorf but most of their manuals only tell what ES mags replaced them on engines but not what used Sumter exactly. Some FM manuals have info on what gears or how to time their FM replacement mags.

Thanks,Dempster. If I am reading this correctly the H is a dimension and the types run vertically. I wonder if the timing information and repairs is consistent with all types of sumters. Even being able to date it would help.

I don't have much other Sumter info just some in my Edison Splitdorf books on Sumter B40 or Jr. 30. Timing can depend on how your engine is set up if it has always had just a Sumter on it shouldn't be any different. Some that were converted later running a later model Fairbank Morse FM J or X or Bosch mag may have had gear changes with the mag 1/2 crankshaft speed instead of crankshaft speed or the other way.
