I have a Graham Bradley with paper pulley and am wondering what the best treatment would be for the work surface. I see many painted black, some newer ones that appear to be oiled, and others left as is.Any opinions? Thanks Jim

I would think you'd be better off to leave it as-is. If you paint or oil it, your belt will tend to slip. Worse, any belt dressing you apply will not be able to adhere as well.
Of course, if you don't plan on doing any belt work, I don't suppose it matters much and you can do whatever pleases your eye the most. A final thought: You could ask the folks at Paper Pulleys Inc. in Tennessee and see what they say. Probably can't get more authoritative than that! |
